Sam win's again!
Sam Barker (Planet X) regained his trophy, as winner of the Mark Bell Memorial Time Trial held in the village of Old. Sam was winner overall of the 18.4 mile event in an impressive time of 42.33, plus as fastest rider living in Northamptonshire kept the Mark Bell trophy for another year.
Second place went to the wire with Greg Ashley (Team Endura) beating host club’s Robert Barker by just three seconds from 45.35 to 45.38. Robin Bellamy (Kettering CC) and John Odell (Nottingham Clarion) made up the top five. The fastest woman on the day was Heather Williams (Cambridge CC), whilst Greg Ashley also won the Veteran’s category.
The conditions for the day were cold for the time of year, but at least it was dry for the riders on the two laps of the Old circuit. The sun did manage to come out as the event ended though.
