10 mile Champs goes to the Wire.
The club’s 10 mile Time Trial Championship had a shock result, when Rob Barker was finally beaten. Gavin Hinxman produced a great ride to clock 23 mins 5 secs to beat Rob by just 6 seconds. Both riders are on great form, so the event always had the potential to go the the wire. Third place went to Robin Bellamy in 23 mins 56 secs. The fastest Junior was Josh Monger in 25.50 and fastest Woman was Natalie Sharp in 31.44.
Due to the festival events at Lamport Hall, the course was reduced slightly to 9.7 miles. 20 club riders tried their luck on the shorter course which missed out the small drag after the turn to the village of Old, but still had to contend with a small crosswind. The following events at Lamport will return to the standard 10 mile distance.
