I have been interested in cycling for around seven years but only got into racing in the past two years. I enjoy all sports in general and enjoy watching sport. I also enjoy running and playing tennis.
Before cycling I was a rower for Oundle town and raced at a good level but gave it all up to give cycling a go. It was cycling around my old housing estate that first got me into cycling. I really enjoy being a member of KCC because the members are a great mixture of old and young and everyone supports each other. Being 15 years old I really benefit from their tips and knowledge.
I take part in road races, time trials and mountain bike. Time trials are my favourite discipline because you can race against your P.Bs and it’s a good buzz just being you against the clock.
My first race was in the Friday night summer series and I won! It’s about the only race I have won but it was the perfect introduction to cycling. My best racing performance was probably one of the Friday night summer series races in 2008 and my longest one was a 100km ride I did last summer. My favourite run is a 22 mile loop to Oundle and back via the country lanes.
My sporting ambition is to cycle from Land’s End to John O’ Groats and run the London marathon and the cyclist I most admire has to be Chris Hoy. My favourite food is pasta and Ribena is my favourite drink.
In the future I would like to see a lot more people out cycling, particulary young people.
