No ImageI have been a member of Kettering Cycling Club for 9 years. I am an Engine Assembly Technician and occasionally cycle to work. Besides cycling I am also interested in Motor Sport.

I have been cycling for 20 years after getting interested in the sport after watching Sean Kelly in the Tour de France in the 80’s. I enjoy being out in the fresh air and have met a lot of good friends through cycling. My favourite cycling run is the back lanes between Rushden and Bedford/Olney.

The cycling disciplines I am most interested in is time trialing and road racing. Road racing is my favorite as it’s more of a team sport. I remember being passed by my minute man very quickly in my first race!! My best cycling performance was achieving 4th place in a road race at Eastway and 2nd place in a handicap road race. The longest distance I have ridden was 110 miles and my sporting ambition is to finish an evening ‘10’!

Bob Carolgees is the cyclist I most admire and pasta with tuna/salmon/haddock & water/tea are my favourite drinks.
In the future in the UK I would like to see more TV and media coverage of national events which I think would help cycling become more main stream in this country.
