No ImageI have been a member of Kettering Cycling Club for thirty two years and I enjoy being the Club Runs Leader. Before retirement I was a Calibration Technician.

It was my son, Martin, that got me into cycling. Martin wanted to join the club when he was 12 so I joined too. My first race involved following Martin in his first event. It was an Easter Sunday morning round the 11.7. I kept him in sight until the first hill out of Brigstock. Halfway up I got off and walked to the top, freewheeled down the other side and continued in the same fashion until I eventually reached the finish!

I enjoy time trials most and enjoy the fresh air, exercise and good company that cycling gives me. My best performance and my longest cycle ride was my one and only 100 mile time trial.

My favourite cycle runs are in Devon and Cornwall and my favourite food and drink is my wife’s fruit cake and a good cup of tea. In the future I would like to see more people cycling.
